Our learning programs

AQVA offers training programs adapted to people living with disabilities, allowing everyone to discover sailing at their own pace. Whether you want to learn the basics of navigation or improve your racing skills, our training combines theory and practice for an enriching and accessible experience.

Discover our two programs: Learn-to-Sail Program for solo navigation and the Learn-to-Race Program for those who want to take on new competitive challenges.

Learn-to-Sail Program

This program is designed for sailors who want to learn to navigate solo. Accredited by Sail Canada, it covers CANSail 1 and 2 levels, combining theory and practice. Each training is adapted to the learner's abilities to provide an optimal experience.

Obtaining this accreditation is required to access the Learn-to-Race program.

Learn-to-Race Program

Our sailors who have obtained their CANSail 2 certification through our Learn-to-Sail program can enroll in our racing program. Participants learn the rules of sailboat racing, as well as techniques and strategies. Theory and practice sessions are held three times a week.

Sailors can apply their knowledge during several regattas:

  • The AQVA Coupe du Québec - held annually in July

  • Adaptive sailing regattas in Ontario

  • The Mobility Cup, an international regatta that brings together adaptive sailing enthusiasts from across North America.

In 2025, AQVA and the Pointe-Claire Yacht Club will have the honor of hosting the Mobility Cup from August 25 to 29.
